The Ring!
The Ring!

          It’s Official!

The question was asked,
After some time, the right ring has been found,
Followed by Krista giving the right Answer!
Which means Someday, we will be getting Married!
Before you ask….We don’t know when (yet).  It’s been a long journey getting to this point in time, but when we know…..you will know!   There is soo much to do not only in preparing to bring our two families together, but other family matters that need attended too.  Krista has quite the checklist, and she/we are getting started on it.
One thing that we have wanted to do is a way of sharing parts of our lives with you.  A way of keeping in touch.  Well in an effort to do that, last year I purchased the domain scottandkrista.net for a Christmas present to both of us.  Great idea!  However over the past year, I have not done much with it.  It has been  directing to a quickly thrown together free website my internet provider offers.  Well Last night I decided it was time to take action.  So This is what I have come up with (so far).  It’s a start, and with all the exciting things that are about to happen in our lives, We look forward to sitting down often to update you.

Great Weekend!

It’s not often Krista makes it to Carrollton, unless of course it is for the 4th of July.

When we first started seeing each other, I was always in charge of doing all the live broadcast from the Carrollton 4th of July Celebration.  So Krista would come here to spend the day with me and take in the concert and fireworks.

Years later, I have learned to pass these duties onto the other hired hands!  But Somehow we still end up spending the 4th here anyway.

This year for the concert, we brought along chicken and ribs right off the smoker to enjoy.  And of course a little of the “grape” to help wash it down!

It was another wonderful Celebration of Independence together.

Now an Update on A DATE.  We Think We have narrowed it down to a Weekend this summer.  As soon as We know, You will know :)

Well…  it’s a typical Sunday, football watching after church…  Scott amazes me how he can watch a game through his eyelids!  WOW!  I, meanwhile, always seem to get my nails done during…  :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the freezing weather January has brought most of us.  Looking forward to Tuesday’s swearing in of the next president – only wish I had Monday off – Tuesday off would be nice too!  As a side note, the Blue Springs High School band was invited to be in the inaugural parade – the only band in MO, thanks to our US senator Claire McCaskill.

I FINALLY DID IT!  I bought a REAL BED – ya know, a ‘grown-up’ one.  (now OJ Simpson and I have one less thing in common – sleeping on a twin)  My goal is to be able to sleep all my kids here at the condo; one less reason they’ll have for not staying!  (Why weren’t they as excited about it as I was?)

Anyway, just hangin’ in ’til spring – hopefully no more 2.5 hour work commutes due to weather this year.  AND, don’t FORGET (sp;) Vday is coming SOON…

OK.  Are you HAPPY Scott?  I finally did IT – B-L-O-G-G-E-D.  (does that have 2 g’s?)

Blog ya later!

The Holidays are behind us and we are unfortunately getting back the “daily grind” both in Blue Springs and Carrollton.  With that said, lets remember our holiday.

For Starters, two of the three McFerren kids went to visit Family in Texas with their Dad.  Krista arrived in Carrollton Christmas Eve in time for 6:30 mass.  Afterwards we had what I hope doesn’t become our traditional Christmas Eve dinner…..beef pot pies with a nice salad.  We had planned our Christmas day dinner, but totally overlooked the evening meal before.  Lesson Learned!

The rest of Christmas Eve was spent putting up my Tree (yes, the tree at my shack went up on “the eve”) wrapping presents and enjoying a glass of wine…or two.

The girls were over Christmas morning for Christmas with us before heading off to their aunts for Dinner.  I have to say  we were pretty lazy after that!  Doing nothing and enjoying it is not one of Krista’s strong points!  I’m much better at than she is.

Friday morning we packed up the car along with the Powell girls and headed back home to Indiana for a couple of days with family.  We have be very fortunate (and thankful) to have made it home several times this year…..But we always wish it were more.  By Monday evening we were back in Missouri.

New Years Eve was a celebration of the arrival of 2009 and a Friends Birthday.  Mark and Nick tagged along for the evening.  It was great having them along.  The party was casual with good food and drink….Thanks Angela, we enjoyed it!!!!!

New Years Day, I admit to doing very little (if anything)  It just felt good being at the condo and hanging out.

The Start of a New Years Celebration is a special time for us.  It marks the beginning of our relationship as well as the start of another year together!  Stay tuned, who knows this “new year” could be THE year!!!  Time will tell.

Back Home in Time!

First of all, We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  we did!  I worked that morning til 10am, which put us on the road by 11am or So.  Yes I said on the road!  We drove to Indiana and made it in time for Thanksgiving Dinner!  We rolled into Evansville around 5:30pm.

This was a very Special Thanksgiving for the two of us.  First of all, It was the first Thanksgiving I have enjoyed “back home” since I moved to Missouri in 1989.  The Other Special Touch was that Krista’s Father, Wendall joined us for the Feast at My Sisters house.

I will take the liberty to speak for both of us, that the long drive was quickly forgotten when we all came together for that meal.  The only thing that could have made it better is if Nick, Kate, Mark, Shelby and Shariden could have been with us.   The McFerren  kids were in Texas visiting with Family and Shelby and Shariden spent the day with family on their mothers side.

Krista knows how to utilize her time!  While we were in town, she took care of alot family matters.  I enjoyed the time visiting with Mom and Dad.  We did have a chance to break away together and do a little shopping on Saturday.

Sunday meant time to leave.  It came too fast!  However the trip home was anything But Fast!!!  It took a an extra Three hours to make the Trip!!!  The traffic around St. Louis was terrible.  Not Much better between there and Columbia, Missouri.  Anyway,  We are back to our Daily grind(s) already planning/anticipating our next visit back home.
